star rating  Jose Luis was absolutely wonderful as our guide...intelligent, knowledgeable, patient. My wife and I very much enjoyed the sites  - Everything was well timed and interesting. Jose Luis is a wonderful guide. So knowledgeable and kind. The sites were fascinating.

star rating  Excellent tour! - Excellent tour, we went to 2 distilleries, sampled many tequilas, made some new friends, had a fun day. I would have liked a little more time to explore the... read more town of Tequila, but I can always go back on my own. This tour was easily worth the price.

star rating  P.Dunnigan  - Very good value. Very good guide Carmen, who spoke english well and was very friendly. Chapala and Ajijic were beautiful and Carmen was very informative

star rating  Chapala and Ajijic - Lake Chapala through the Ages  - My Panoramex excursion to Chapala and Ajijic was outstanding. The guide, Ronny, was friendly and considerate. His knowledge of local history was encyclopedic! He also capably... read more assisted with photos.

Ronny sketched out the history of Chapala, from the indigenous times through the colonization and wars of independence to the present. He showed how a good part of this history is encapsulated by murals inside a small lighthouse at the end of a pier.

He pointed out local flora and fauna, including parrots flying freely in trees and the many birds on the lake.

In Ajijic, we had a wonderful lunch at a lakeside restaurant and a walk around town and on the boardwalk.

Ronny drew attention to old Spanish churches and pointed out unusual architectural details. He also pointed out many interesting murals, accompanied by details about the artists.

Associating pictures and murals with sometimes dry historical facts is a great way to make history come alive. I ended the day with a much better understanding of local history and culture.
